Nonviolent communication, developed by Marshall Rosenberg, is a method of communicating more clearly and with compassion toward families, friends, co-workers, in every situation. It focuses on empathy, listening with compassion and honest expression, stating one’s needs in a manner that is more likely to be accepted by others. While certification is not necessary to teach NVC, it is helpful to keep up to date with the teachings and developing networks within the organization.
