Project Managers are needed in just about every industry throughout the world. There are standards that must be met in order to ensure all project managers have a minimum set of skills The Project Management Institute offers a certification for project managers called “PMP” (Professional Management Professional). Obtain the educational requirements needed to sit for the test. Persons with a high school diploma or associate’s degree must have five years of experience in all five performance domains in non-overlapping projects. Persons with a bachelor’s degree must have three years of experience in all five performance domains in non-overlapping projects. Performance domains consist of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing. Submit a set of experience verification forms.
