How Do You Become A Certified Florida Appraiser?
Real estate appraisal is a regulated industry in Florida with three levels of licensing. This high level of regulation is required to ensure competent and consistent real estate appraisals across Florida’s diverse real estate settings. The first license level is called Registered Trainee Appraiser and requires 100 hours of training. The second level, Certified Residential Appraiser, requires 200 hours of training plus a national exam. The highest level is called Certified General Appraiser and requires 300 hours of training and another more advanced exam. Complete 100 hours of board-approved coursework covering real estate appraisal topics required by the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB).
