How Do You Beat Red Light Traffic Ticket At Court?
If they have a picture of you in the intersection when the light was red, there really isn’t anything you can do to beat the ticket. If your face isn’t clear and recognizable you can try to claim you weren’t driving, but most of the time in order to get out of the ticket that way they will make you tell them who was driving your car. Then they’ll send that person a ticket. Showing up in court will at least usually result in a reduction of the fine, so it’s worth the trip. Otherwise, just pay the fine and forget it. Red light camera tickets in the US are civil fines, so they don’t go on your driving record or affect your auto insurance, I’m not sure it it’s the same in Canada.
