As the ice falls, it could also make the power lines to heavy. Therefore, they could break, leaving you without power. Have a generator handy. Make sure you know how to properly use it. Running it inside could cost you your life. Make sure you have plenty of bottled water. Pipes could freeze and you would be without running water. It would not be a bad idea to keep a little rock salt handy to rid any outdoor walkways, steps, and steps of ice. Therefore, if you must go outside, you will not fall.
