How Do You Be Open-Minded When Your Child Becomes An Elementary School Student — Parent Tips?
When an elementary school student begins attending elementary school, it is time for parents to be open-minded and let go. I am not saying to turn children lose and throw them to the wolves, but, as their parent and it is not your responsibility to make life perfect for your elementary school student or throughout their school years. Rather, it is your purpose to help them adapt to the many school situations that they encounter. Thus, teaching them to be able to adapt and deal with adverse situations throughout their life. As a retired teacher with 33 years in the classroom, it makes it much more difficult on the student when they finally encounter a situation that cannot be controlled or fixed by their parents. I have personally seen situations where a student was not placed as the parent requested and the student literally blossomed. Sometimes we do not know what classroom is the best choice for the student. Many times parents make the choice to keep their child with their friends. C
