How Do You Be In Theatre Tech Crew In High School?
• Think about why you’re interested in tech and if there are any areas you specifically want to learn about. • Find out whether Tech at your school is a class or a club and how to join it. • Talk to those involved as Techs at your school and find out if it’s worth while joining the group. • Evaluate your personality traits that may help you be a good technician. • Talk to the Tech teacher or program leader. Ask questions about the program. • Volunteer to help out in a junior role at one of the performances. • Join up! • Read about future careers in theater if you think it’s a good fit for you • Make sure you have black clothing to wear backstage during a production. • Do any task assigned to you • Have a positive attitude, ALWAYS. Or at very least, don’t complain, just get it done. Learn anything and everything about ALL aspects of teching.
