How Do You Be Happy On Valentines Day?
Valentine’s Day can be a lonely time for the single set. It is a time when the world is plastered with red hearts and greeting cards that can unearth sad memories of past loves and amplify a singleton’s sense of solitude. But, with a little optimism and creativity, you don’t have to be miserable on Valentine’s Day. Forget that Valentine’s Day exists. Pick something that makes you happy and treat yourself to sweet distraction by visiting the zoo or a museum, take a day-hike or spend the day reading in bed. It isn’t easy with all the hype on television commercials, store windows and the Internet, but you can distract yourself and the day will pass quickly. Be your own Valentine and do something sweet for yourself. Get a new haircut or a manicure, go shopping or treat yourself to a spa and a massage. You don’t need a “special someone” to pamper you, you can pamper yourself. Throw a Valentine’s Day party for all of your single friends and tell them to bring all of their single friends. Not
