How Do You Be Frugal By Making Homemade Liquid Laundry Detergent?
Being unemployed, one learns how to be frugal real quickly. One of the most costly household cleaners to purchase is laundry detergent. Well, I got a recipe for you to try. Oh yes, recycle too by keeping those empty liquid detergent containers with the no-spill caps. You can use these containers again to store your homemade laundry detergent! Mix the grated Fels Naptha soap in a sauce pan with the 3 pints hot water and heat on low until the soap is completely dissolved. Slowly stir in washing soda and borax. Stir until thickened, and remove from heat. Add 1 quart hot water to a two-gallon bucket. Add soap mixture, and mix well. Fill bucket to about 3 inches from the top with additional hot water, and mix well. Set aside covered (for safety purposes) for 24 hours, or until mixture thickens. After the liquid thickens, you can take the empty liquid detergent container(s) to pour and store the detergent. Be sure to rinse the containers out well. WASHING INSTRUCTIONS Use 1/2 cup of mixture
