How Do You Be A USAG Level 9 Gymnast?
Level 9 is a hard level to reach. Very few people make it to level 9, and even fewer get there after just one year of level 8. Most spend at least two to three years at level 8. To be level 9 you will need to expect to train from 20-27 hours per week. • General requirements – Be at least 8 years old and achieve a 34.00 All around at level 8. • Vault – A vault with a salto is best like a tsukahara, yurchenko or handspring front tuck. • Bars – you will now need two different bar changes so you will need to learn a skill like a straddle back to catch the low bar. You will need either two different flight elements or one flight element and one turning element, as well as a B-value dismount like a double tuck flyaway. • Beam – You will now need an acro series with two flight elements. The most popular one is two back handsprings but there are lots of variations. You will also need a B-value dismount like a front layout. Floor – By level 9 you will need a few twisting elements to score well.
