How Do You Be A USAG Level 8 Gymnast?
Level 8 is a major step in your gymnastics journey. It takes a lot of work to reach this level but once you get to level 8 the skills are very exciting. You will need to train around 18-25 hours a week, five to six days a week for three to five hours at a time. A lot of work will be needed for strength and flexibility. • To reach this level you must be at least 8-years-old and achieve at least a 31.00 all-around competing at level 7. • Vault – To be competitive at this level you will need a more advanced vault like a tucked tsukahara. • Bars – You will now need an element with flight or with a 180-degree turn. Popular ones include the hiccup to high bar, or the clear hip with half turn. You should also be able to easily cast to handstand. • Beam – Acro series is the big change in expectations from level 7-8. You will now have to connect two acro skills.
