A few years ago my marriage started to go down the toilet. Well, if I’m being honest, it was going downhill long before that, but that’s about the time things started to really hit the fan. At the time, my daughter was two and my son was not even a year old. I got thrown into totally caring for the kids and let me tell you, I didn’t have a clue about what I was doing. I’m lucky those kids are even alive today! But in the last three years, I’ve learned a lot of lessons about how to be a great dad in a difficult situation like this. Besides the very basics like changing diapers, general discipline when they need it, and making macaroni and cheese, here are the seven things I think every divorced dad absolutely has to know and do in order to get on the road to showing up his ex-wife and proving to her and everyone else that he’s not a complete incompetent idiot: 1.
