How Do You Be A Good Sport At Kids Activities/Events?
Parents and family members sometimes get extremely passionate at their kids’ sporting events. Whether it’s hockey, gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, swimming, fencing, wrestling, basketball, (etc.) we are competitive by nature. While everyone WANTS to win, sports are not designed that way; there will be some upsets along the way. We all need to learn the fine art of GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP. While it’s easier for some than others, I would encourage everyone reading this article to exercise some restraint the next time you want to yell out at the ref for a bad call. Regardless of your negative comments, his/her call rules! What you scream from the stands won’t change the call. If you want your kids to continue enjoying their activities and pursue them further, make sure your words and actions are encouraging ones. Whether it’s at the pee-wee stage or beyond, we, as parents, set the example for our kids. Teaching them a love of the sport and encouraging them to do their best while participating
