How Do You Bake A Moist Date Nut Beer Cake?

0

I have a very old recipe book by Rubbermaid Employees and it has unusual recipes in it. I couldn’t find any recipes for this moist cake using dates, nuts, and beer in ehow so I figured I’d write an article for anyone looking to make this. Have fun and Happy Baking! In a mixing bowl, cream together 1 C Crisco shortening and 2 C packed light brown sugar. Mix well. Add 2 large well beaten eggs, 1 C chopped walnuts or pecans, 1 C chopped dates, 1 t. Cinnamon, 1/4 t. cloves, and 2 t. baking soda. Set aside. In another mixing bowl, stir together 3 C flour, 1/2 t. salt, and 1 (12 oz.) can beer. Add Beer/flour mixture to fruit-nut mixture and mix well. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 X 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 – 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool and cut into serving pieces. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY MANY OTHER RECIPE ARTICLES IN EHOW! HAVE FUN AND HAPPY BAKING!
