How Do You Bake A Chocolate Beer Cake?
A Chocolate Lovers Delight. This cake is so moist and has a very deep rich chocolate flavor to die for. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray three 8-inch by 2-inch high round cake pans with non-stick spray, line with parchment paper and spray top of paper. In a medium saucepan over medium heat whisk together, 2 cups butter and 2 cups Guinness Stout Beer until smooth and simmer for 6 minutes. Set a side and let cool slightly. Stir together in a large bowl 4 cups sugar, 1 tablespoon baking soda, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/8 cup brown sugar and 4 cups flour. In another bowl mix with an electric mixer, 4 eggs and 1 1/3 cups sour cream until blended. When chocolate mixture has cooled add to egg mixture and stir until just blended. On low speed add flour mixture and beat slightly. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, fold mixture together until well blended. Pour mixture into 3 cake pans equally. Bake about 30 minutes or until tooth pick comes out with moist flakes sticking to pick (do not over bake).
