The Postcard Virus (also unofficially known as the CNN Postcard virus or Snopes Postcard virus) is a virus which attacks your data on your computer’s hard drives. Follow the following instructions on how to combat this virus. The virus will identify itself as an eCard or Postcard from someone you know. DO NOT OPEN IT. Delete it immediately. If you open it, it will not only begin to extract and damage data from your drive, but it will also, use your e-mail address book and send the same message including the virus to all of the addresses in your address book. Make sure that your virus and spyware software is up to date. This is the most common way to combat malevolent programs. If you mistakenly open the card, it will give you an option to run, save, or cancel. Click cancel or the X. Saving or running the program could be detrimental to your computer and your data.
