Gardens are beautiful, useful additions to any landscape, but their beauty and functionality is lessened if grass creeps beyond the garden boundary. Part of the reason this happens is because the lawn is not edged properly and because there isn’t enough of a boundary between the lawn and garden. Remove all weeds and grass from your garden by hand or by using a tiller. Dig a trench that is at least 4 inches deep all the way around your garden. Mix some cement powder and water in a bucket according to the manufacturer’s directions. Pour the cement into the trench and stack stones on top of it. Leave the cement to set. Pound the edging into the ground inside the cemented trench so it is within your garden boundary. Get as close to the stones as you can, driving the edging down as far as you need to make it secure.
