The most important step is to ask for help whether it’s family, friends/neighbors, community supports or online support groups If you have siblings and/or extended family assign tasks that need to be done i.e. shopping, finances, doctor appointments, etc. Contact your local elder care agency to access services that your loved one may be eligible to receive i.e. home care services, adult day care, meals on wheels, etc. If your loved one is unable to remain at home contact your local elder care agency they will be able to refer you to group adult foster care, assisted living and/or long term care facilities.
