How Do You Automatically Hyphenate A Document Using Word XP?

0

Word XP contains a feature that allows you to automatically hyphenate words. Hyphenating words at the end of the lines gives your documents a professional appearance. When you hyphenate words in your documents, your justified text will have more uniform spacing. Open Word XP. Click on the menu bar above. Choose “Tools,” then “Language,” then “Hyphenate.” The Hyphenation dialog box opens. Check the “Automatically Hyphenate Document” option. You are also able to choose other options as well, such as, “Hyphenate word in CAPS” and entering a value in the Hyphenation Zone box. Choosing a wide hyphenation zone reduces the number of hyphenations that Word will perform. Click the “OK” button to close the dialog box. If you want to omit certain paragraphs from being hyphenated, select the paragraph and click on the Word menu bar above. Choose “Format”, then “Paragraph”, choose the “Line and page breaks” tab. Place a check mark in the “Don’t Hyphenate option”.
