How Do You Audition For A Broadway Musical?
So you want to be on Broadway, huh? Well, get in line. The truth is, actors do make it to Broadway and you may be talented enough to join the highest ranks, but unless you know the basics – such as what you need to do to get a Broadway audition – you will never get your chance to glow beneath the fabulous limelight. Get an Agent – The vast majority of actors you seen on stage at Broadway shows were sent in to Broadway auditions by their agents. You have to be good at selling yourself in order to get a good agent to represent you, but you also have to be a good actor. Don’t plan to “trick” an agent into thinking you have an extensive vocal range or that you are an avid dancer. Eventually the truth comes out. Open Calls – Broadway open calls are available for actors without agents. There will typically be a small window of time where you can sign up for a number and wait your turn to be heard.
