Every young ballet dancer dreams of the day when she auditions for the ballet company she aspires to. Unfortunately, ballet companies are very competitive. Auditions can be very stressful on a dancer. Make it as easy as possible, so you are relaxed and confident for your audition. Find out as much as you can about the ballet companies you want to audition for. Different companies have different styles and requirements. Those that are traditional do not want someone who dances improv and modern. Learning these requirements early in your dancing career will point you in the right direction. Work with a coach or teacher who shares your goals and ambitions. Find a teacher who knows the company you want to dance for, or at least knows its style and requirements.
