How Do You Attract Nightcrawlers?
Nightcrawlers are large, nocturnal earthworms that can be found in parts of the United States, Canada and regions of Europe. They are often considered to be the best type of live bait for fishing. Another common use for nightcrawlers is food for household pets, most commonly reptiles. These worms are simple, predictable creatures, so luring them in and catching them takes minimal effort. Make a small pile of grass clippings and leaves in your yard and let it sit for two or more weeks. Nightcrawlers live off of decomposing vegetation, so they will see this as an easy meal. Sprinkle coffee grounds around the grass pile. The strong aroma of coffee will attract nightcrawlers from far away. Water your yard for an hour on the night you plan to catch the nightcrawlers.
