How Do You Attend The National Civil Rights Museum Kwanzaa Celebrations?
The National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee is the only national memorial to the Civil Rights movement. The museum is located in the former building of the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. The museum was founded through donations, after a group of civil right supporters saved the hotel from foreclosure. Attend the lightning of the Kwanzaa candles, a special event held every day for 7 days. Depending on the year, this is done either outside, on the lawn in front of the museum, or inside, at one of the exhibition rooms.
