Remove the tube rings-multi-function plate assembly from the telescope. Begin by releasing the thumb nuts. Open the hinges by using one of the three-threaded holes in the multi-function plate assembly. Turn the knurled black wheel directly underneath the mounting platform on the Alt-Az mount. Hold the tube rings in place while doing so to secure the telescope in place. Proceed to attach the telescope main tube to the tube rings.
