How Do You Attach Multiple SATA Hard Drives?
There is the capability of adding more hard drives to computers, expanding the available storage space. Unlike the older PATA/EIDE technology, SATA has no jumpers to configure because each SATA port on a computer only holds a single drive. Therefore, if you want to add multiple SATA drives to a computer, you must ensure the computer has a spare SATA port or install a SATA controller card to add additional ports to your computer. Turn your computer off and disconnect it from the wall outlet. Disconnect all cables attached to your computer (keyboard, mouse, Ethernet, etc.). Open your computer case. Insert the new SATA hard drive into an empty drive bay. Secure the SATA hard drive into the drive bay using hard-drive screws. Some computer cases will have you mount the hard drive to rails first.
