How Do You Attach A Steel-Braided Hose To A Rubber Hose?
Steel-braided hoses and rubber hoses are used in many applications, but the most common are as water supply hoses for washing machines. The rubber hose has been in use for a number of years and is exactly what the name says: a hose manufactured from rubber or reinforced rubber. Steel-braided hoses are a new innovation. These are made up of an inner hose core surrounded by a steel mesh braid which helps reinforce the hose. The two are not mutually exclusive. For example, it’s possible to attach a steel-braided hose to a rubber hose, if needed. Soak the steel-braided hose and rubber hose in a solution of warm water. Place a few drops of dish washing liquid on each side of the coupling. Start with the steel-braided hose. Slip one of the hose clamps over the end. Insert the coupling into the end of the steel-braided hose. Slide the hose clamp until it is over where the nipple of the coupling slides into the steel-braided hose.
