Driving without a rearview mirror is dangerous and you may end up having to pay a fine if you get pulled over. But don’t worry, attaching a rearview mirror doesn’t have to be a hassle! Step 1 Buy a rearview mirror installation kit. They can be found in any auto parts store. Step 2 Park your car in a place where the temperature is between 50 and 75 degrees. The adhesive will not set as strongly on glass that is too hot. Step 3 Remove the metal button from the rearview mirror, using your wrench or screwdriver. Newer cars usually don’t have mirrors that glue directly to the glass. Instead, you will glue the button directly to the glass and then attach the rearview mirror to the button.
