The adhesive will not set as strongly on glass that is too hot. Step 3 Remove the metal button from the rearview mirror, using your wrench or screwdriver. Newer cars usually don’t have mirrors that glue directly to the glass. Instead, you will glue the button directly to the glass and then attach the rearview mirror to the button.
