The core functions of Peachtree Accounting, however, have remained the same. To provide security and unwanted access to the accounts created within Peachtree Accounting, access is restricted to those who have a username and password. New users can be created and added to the program as needed. Open the Peachtree Accounting software, click “Maintain,” and select “Users.” Press “OK” in the window notifying you that you are about to create users. Enter a username in the “User ID:” box. Type a password in the “Password:” box. Click the box in the “Control” column next to “System.” A drop down menu will appear allowing you to choose the access restrictions for the “System.” Choose the access restriction from the drop down list. Repeat Step 5 for the “Sales,” “Purchases,” “General Ledger,” “Payroll” and “Inventory
