How do you apply to be a Movie / TV Show extra ?
Extra work is NOT the best way of building your acting foundation! You really should consider stage acting ESPECIALLY since you’re in the UK! You guys have the BEST theatre training in the world! That’s why English actors kick butt in American roles! The problem with extra work is you’re gone the whole day and make a little just above minimum wage. What if you had the opportunity to audition for a big National Commercial that would take care of you for the rest of the year? You CAN’T take it because “you’re stuck on set.” You’re NOT going to get discovered so if you’re doing Extra work for that then forget it! I ONLY recommend Extra work for a month so you can see what it’s like working on a professional set and network and learn from fellow actors, but NOTHING else! The best way to build your acting career foundation is by Commercials and proper training.
