The process of innovation is fairly complex and it can be quite difficult to apply the innovation process to change an organization. In its simplest form, the innovation process consists of three distinct phases: conception, implementation and marketing. The conception phase includes things like requirement analysis, idea generation and product planning; the implementation phase includes prototype development and testing; and the marketing phase includes actual production and launch. Determine an unmet need where an innovation may help change your organization for the better. Consider intangible things like your culture and employee morale and more tangible items like your website or connecting better with a particular customer segment. Write down a thorough analysis of your idea and how it addresses the unmet need. Structure your analysis like a business plan and include an executive summary, objective and implementation plan.
