In a doctor’s office or a hospital people are exposed to microorganisms that can seriously affect their health if medical staff do not use proper aseptic procedures. The definition of the word aseptic simply means “without microorganisms.” Read the information below to apply or recognize the aseptic technique in a medical environment. Visit the Engenderhealth website (see Resources below). Scroll down the left menu to the “Resources” heading and click on the “Online Courses” link. Pay attention to the resources provided. Read the entire page. Go to the “Infection Prevention” heading and select the “English” link under the “Begin this course online” title. Review the different titles and select the “Introduction to Aseptic Technique” option. Start taking the online course.
