How Do You Apply Perforated Drywall Tape?
A finished wall covered with drywall appears seamless and whole, which is what makes it an optimum choice for interior wall cladding. Drywall is only available in sheets and is applied as such, but each sheet has tapered edges on the finish face that allow for the addition of perforated drywall tape. This tape is what allows the seamless appearance of the finished wall, and is the only way to prevent joint cracking on surface drywall finish mud. The application of perforated drywall tape is a generally straightforward task that only ever requires simple tools. Unroll the tape so about 6 inches are revealed. Center the revealed 6 inches of tape over a joint between two sheets of drywall; you should start at the beginning or end of a drywall joint. Press the tape (firmly) over the joint to adhere, and while pressing firmly, unroll the tape along the joint and adhere. You can ensure a good bond between the tape and drywall by gently dragging the putty knife over the tape. When applying dr
