How Do You Apply Gentamicin Sulfate Ophthalmic Solution?
Gentamycin sulfate opthalmic solution is an antibiotic drop used to treat bacterial infections of the eye. It is inexpensive and has been proven safe after many years of use. Wash your hands with soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry. Place your index finger on the lower eyelid and gently pull down. This will form a pocket in which you will administer the gentamycin sulfate opthalmic solution. Steady your hand by resting your remaining fingers on your face in a way that feels comfortable. Tilt your head back. Squeeze the bottle with your thumb and forefinger, being careful not to touch the dropper tip to your eye or anything else. Administer the prescribed number of drops into the pocket of your lower eyelid. Close eyes for a couple of minutes. Wipe excess solution from your face with a tissue. Replace lid to opthalmic solution and store in cool, dry place. Wash hands with soap and water. Towel dry.
