Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) programs are the single-largest source of new Navy and Marine Corps officers. Over 60 colleges throughout the nation have NROTC units, and another 40-plus schools have an NROTC affiliation. Students can win 4-year, full-tuition scholarships to these schools in exchange for a commitment to serve as a Navy or Marine Corps officer. Follow these steps to apply for these competitive NROTC scholarships. Decide if you want to serve as an unrestricted line officer in the Navy or Marine Corps. NROTC graduates must enter a line community that includes the surface, submarine, aviation and special warfare communities. You cannot enter fields such as intelligence or supply.
