How Do You Apply Body Filler To Repair Paint Chips?
If you want to repair chips and small dings in your car’s paint, the simplest way to do it is to use body filler. There are several body fillers available on the market, but most of them are polyester fillers. These will require mixing before using so that it will cure. Be sure to follow the directions on the package. Mix the body filler according to manufacturer directions and place some of it on a smooth flat metal surface to be used as a pallet. Use a new straight razor blade to apply the filler to the chip. You want to use the least amount of filler as possible to fill the chip. Start with a very small amount and add more if needed. Take care to scrape off excess build up around the chip with the razor blade. Wait the length of time instructed on the package for the body filler to dry and cure.
