Anchoring a curio cabinet is a safe and simple way to protect your valuables. A curio cabinet is usually made of glass and wood and displays collectables, often made of delicate glass. Many curios also have a mirror backing, all of which makes curio cabinets very delicate objects in need of stability. Anchors are vital when storing such valuable in such a vulnerable cabinet. Most interior walls are made of drywall so using the right type of anchor and limiting the weight the cabinet itself will bear is important. Locate the studs in the wall behind the curio cabinet. Use an electronic stud finder or simply tap the wall with a hammer feeling for the main studs. You may need to move the cabinet slightly so that it sits in front of a stud. Measure the height and width of the curio cabinet. Divide it up into four sections. Mark the dividing line between the sections on the back of the cabinet with a carpenter’s pencil.
