How Do You Adjust Toilet Tank Handles?
At one time or another we all have heard the dreaded sound of running water coming from the toilet. That doesn’t mean you need to call for professional help. Before recruiting a plumber, makes these simple adjustments to your toilet tank’s handle and your problems may be solved. Determine that the problem with your toilet is the handle and not another part of the fixture. Turn the nut on the inner side of the toilet in a clockwise direction with a wrench to tighten a loose handle. Make the chain length shorter to help rectify the problem of having to hold the handle down to flush the commode. Adjust any slack in the tank’s chain by fastening the chain through another hole or use needle nose pliers to eliminate chain links. Replace any broken chains with new ones. Unstick your toilet tank handle. Lift off the tank lid and wipe off the mounting nut. The nut is on the tank’s inner side in back of the handle.
