How Do You Adjust The Channel Equalization Controls Of An Audio Mixer?
Most mixing boards today feature “sweeping” mid-range equalization controls. This feature allows the user to select a frequency and either raise or cut its level. As with both the high and low frequency controls, the mid-range EQ gain knob set in the halfway position produces no effect on the natural sound of the microphone or instrument. With a microphone, instrument, or music playback device connected to a channel on the mixing board, locate the equalization controls for that channel. NOTE: With most medium-sized (or larger) mixers, there is a fixed control for the high frequencies that adjusts a pre-set frequency and the frequencies above it. In the middle (halfway) has no effect. Adjusting the knob below the halfway point creates a reduction in high frequencies and above halfway creates a boost of these frequencies. The same is true with a low control however it adjusts a pre-set frequency and all below it. Adjust the high frequency control: If the sound needs more brightness, slow
