How Do You Adjust The Blade Tension For A Delta Scroll Saw?
Setting the correct blade tension for a Delta scroll saw is an important step in learning how to use the saw. Because scroll saw pieces are threaded onto the blade with each cut, this is a step that will be used over and over in the duration of a project. A blade that is too loose will not provide the required precision in the cutting. Loose blades will wear poorly and may break. Excess tightness may damage work. It is important to match the proper blade and wood material for each project. Unplug the scroll saw before handling the blade. Install the bottom of the blade. Tighten the blade holder screws gently. Thread the wood over the blade. Attach the blade into the top holder. Hold the blade with one hand. Apply tension to the blade with the cam-lock lever with the other hand. The blade should be taut and not move from side to side when pressed lightly with a finger. Secure the tension by setting the blade-lock lever, located underneath the tensioner.
