How Do You Adjust Sears Garage Door Openers?
If you bought a garage door opener from Sears, chances are it’s a Craftsman, their inhouse brand of tools and machinery. Craftsman openers are fairly easy to adjust using settings on the back of the unit. Sometimes, however, adjusting the garage door opener requires that you first adjust the garage door. Inspect the bolts that connect the garage door panels with your fingers. You’ll want to do this with the garage door closed. If you feel loose bolts, use a socket and socket wrench to tighten them down. Inspect all the panels on the inside. Inspect the rollers and the track. The roller can get bogged down with grease and gunk. Spray them with some WD-40 to ensure a smooth roll. You’ll also want to visually inspect the track to make sure that there’s nothing impeding the rollers. Adjust the up and down controls on the opener housing with your screwdriver. You’ll see two separate adjustable knobs on the back of the garage door opener. The one on the left will control how far up and down
