How Do You Adjust Respironics Bipap Pressure?
If you have obstructive sleep apnea, you spend much of your sleeping time snoring, going through periods of apnea (no breathing), gasping and starting your breathing pattern again. A bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machine (like the BiPAP Pro model manufactured by Respironics) includes a unit that compresses air, a tightly fitting nasal or face mask, and tubing to connect the mask and unit. It delivers a stream of air compressed to a higher pressure when you inhale and a lower pressure when you exhale. This combination keeps your airways open so you don’t stop breathing and helps you rest more comfortably. Turn off the airflow. Plug in your machine and watch the display screen until you see the word “blower.” Press the button right below the word “menu” until the screen asks if you want to change settings.
