How Do You Adjust Car Door After Replacing Hinges?

0

You probably have the correct hinges. Adjusting a door is very tricky! The hinges adjust four ways, in, out, up and down and you have to get just the right combination of all of them! The doors are adjusted (installed) at the factory while the front fenders are off which makes it easy. They also use an alignment tool (robotic). Tighten your bolts ALMOST all the way but so that there is a slight slip in them. Close the door and then easily open it back and tighten two bolts in each hinge. Then check the fit again. Put a mark on the hinge and bolt so you can tell how much you move it. A small movement of the hinge equates to a HUGE change in door position.
