How Do You Adjust A Ski Or Snowboard Helmet?
The purpose of a helmet is to protect your head, so make sure you have a proper fit before venturing onto the slopes. Step 1 Go to a local ski store and check out the variety of ski helmets for sale. Step 2 Try on several helmets – determine where they feel too loose or too tight on your head. The best time to check for fit is before you actually put down any money for a helmet. Step 3 Purchase a helmet that fits you fairly well. If you find that there are still places where it feels loose, you can try adding padded strips to the inside of the helmet. You can purchase padded strips of varying depths and widths. These strips are similar (sometimes identical) to those found in bike helmets. Step 4 Try your helmet on for fit again. Step 5 Cinch the chin strap. Step 6 Adjust the strap so it fits snugly under your chin. Pull or push more of the strap through the buckle, depending on what type of adjustment you need to make.
