How Do You Adjust A Furnace Thermostat Easily?
Is your furnace staying on too long or not long enough. Having your furnace calibrated right can save energy and money. Here is a step by step guide on how to adjust your furnace thermostat. Remove the front plate. This can usually be done by just removing a few screws. Some furnace front plates have clips on the sides you will need to remove as well. Make sure the thermostat housing is aligned properly and there are no loose wires. If your furnace isn’t working correctly we want to eliminate any obvious problems first. Locate the switch labeled “longer” or “time delay”. This switch is what controls how long your furnace stays on. Once you have adjusted your furnace to your desired preference, replace the cover without screwing it in. Monitor your furnace for a few cycles. Once you are satisfied with the settings, replace the cover, and fasten the screws into place.
