Now that you have installed your new patio doors you need wood trim around them to finish the project. The wood trim will cover the edge of the drywall where it meets the door frame.and will extend out onto the doorjamb covering all of the jamb except 1/8th of an inch. Your wood trim is called casing and can be purchased at your local home remodeling center. Casing is easily installed and you can accomplish this yourself without calling a carpenter Measure from the floor up to 1/8 of an inch past the top doorjamb and mark it with a pencil. Make the mark is in the corner where the top jamb meets the side jamb. Do this step on both sides of the door. You should only have 1/8 of an inch of doorjamb showing on each side of the door and across the top of the door when you install the trim. Measure from the floor up to your top left pencil mark and mark the same distance on one of the 8-foot sections of trim. Complete this step again for the right side.
