The kit and process is similar for larger central AC units, but only intended for window air conditioners as large central AC units should be checked yearly along with the furnace for maintenance and safety issues by a professional. Remove the air conditioner from the window, but leave it plugged in. Locate the larger of the two lines that come off of the compressor (a metal cylinder). Plug the service valve (the larger valve connector in the Freon kit) into the line as shown in the instructions that came with the valve. Plug the tap valve (the smaller valve connector in the freon kit) into the other line as shown in the included instructions.
