How Do You Add RAM To A Powerbook G4?
One of the easiest and quickest hardware upgrades that you can perform yourself on your PowerBook G4 is to add a random access memory (RAM) module. This memory upgrade will improve your computer’s performance and will take about 15 minutes. Turn off your PowerBook. Unplug it if it is connected to a power source. Flip it over. Touch a non-painted piece of metal to remove the static electricity from your body and clothes. Static electricity can cause damage to your laptop. Take the battery out of the PowerBook. Push the power button a couple of times. Unfasten the screws with your Phillips screwdriver around the cover of the memory door on back of the laptop. Remove the cover from the memory compartment. Take the new memory module out of the package. Do not touch the pins on one of the long edges. Find the grooves in the slot in the memory compartment.
