How Do You Add Pull Chords To Bamboo Blinds?
This is a follow up to How to make bamboo blinds. In this article I will explain how to attach a pull cord. Take the 2 pieces of wood and drill two holes for the pulleys to mount on (keeping in mind the width of your slats.)Once the holes are drilled, put the slats between the two pieces of wood and insert the rivets to attach the bamboo slats. Then attach the pulleys. Keep the pulleys about 3-4 inches away from the end of the head rail to keep it balanced. Attach the round metal rings through the cord in the tied slats (just as if you were attaching a key to the key ring)going upward like a ladder. Keep in mind the distance between the rings. Remember to attach the rings across from each other and lined up with the pulleys. Run the cord through the rings. The first ring, which is the bottom ring, should be tied tightly. It will be holding a lot of weight as the shade is rolled up. Once at the top of the blinds, insert the eyelets and run cord through it. One on each side. Run cord thr
