Fresh flowers are an easy addition to any cake, as long as the flowers are pesticide free and edible. They can match the wedding or event color hue and theme or completely contrast it. Special flower holders can be inserted into the sides and on top to give the look of flowers being inserted directly into the cake itself while protecting both the flowers and the cake. Place the cake on the display or cake table, positioning the “front side” to face the crowd. Pick through the flowers, and remove any that have dark spots or bruises or that have wilted.
