How Do You Add De To Pool Filter During Opening (Empty Tank)?
Clean out the tank completely if not done at winterization. Then fill tank with hose water with as much water as you can. Put the lid back on tightly then start system. Bleed air out of tank from relief valve (swhould be at top of tank) when a strong stream of water comes out and no air then close the relif valve. Make sure water is at operational level and that the skimmers are on. Add de though the skimmer by removing lid and the skimmer basket. Not sure what size tank you have but the box or bag of de should tell you how much to add by the pound. You can use a de scoop or a coffee can (2 cans=1 lb). Good luck and have fun!
